Below are the tips/tricks I give my members prior to posting their loan request. Remember that Prosper is not an overnight solution to your problems. Borrowers who take the time to go through the system properly are generally rewarded with a funded loan request on the back end.

Loan Request Details:  (we offer to independently verify any of the information below)

  1. A detailed monthly budget including ALL expenses
  2. Paychecks (1-2 months worth) - Verified you have a stable source of income that will allow repayments of your loan
  3. Bank Statements (1-2 months worth) - Verifies you have a stable source of income that will allow you to repay your loan
  4. Monthly bills (most recent month) - Verifies your current oustanding debts/balances
  5. How much you want to borrow and why
  6. The rate at which you hope to borrow
  7. Your plan to repay your loan
  8.  Review of Your Current Financial Status
-Tell us about any credit issues you know you currently have
-Describe any past issues you have resolved
  9. Any other pertinent financial information

Additional Tips:

  1. Before you start a loan request access and buy your Experian Credit Report. The best thing you can do is be informed about what your credit report says about you!
  2. The most important details of a loan request are the financial details.
  3. Loan requests are word capped, so make your point and move on.
  4. Spell check, spell check, spell check!
  5. Take the time to format your loan request information. If it isn't easy to read and understand, then your loan will get ignored.
  6. Make use of both the loan request and your personal information page to relay relevant information.
  7. Use the Prosper Discussion Forums to dialogue directly with lenders and borrowers. ( http://prosper.spreebb.com/ )
  8. Add a picture of yourself to your loan request. This helps the lenders relate/connect to the person they are supporting.
